What and where?
Double happy is a Chinese-American restaurant located in old town Louisville in a nice corner piece of property next to a good parking lot. It’s family run and owned with a pride on its friendly service and cozy atmosphere. They server a wide range of Asian food from Vietnam and China to even Korea, they take the most popular dishes from Asia and they have them in one place.
First Impression.
Me and my friends had no idea we’re we wanted to eat and so we were walking down old town Louisville checking out the spots and saw this place on the corner with a sign saying they have boba, a popular Korean drink, and we came to a vote and wanted to check the place out. It had a interesting inside with a mash up of all different styles of Asian from Japanese writing on the wall with Himalayan flags and Chinese paintings decorating the walls, but even with the mash up it still felt comfy. We were seated immediately and because we were a large group that was nice. The server was very down to earth and fun to talk to giving his recommendations on the best dishes and flavors of boba. We all got boba from there large list of flavors that were very authentic, except for one that was avocado flavored! It was surprising that it actually tasted good.
The Food
We all got different things like dim sum and even pho, but I got a classic lunch with Kung pao chicken with rice. The food did not take long to come out which was impressive for the size of the group being seven, it came out hot and very tasty the nice portion size to was good it was not a big plate full like most Chinese restaurants do but a nice simple plate with rice and one plump dumpling. Not only that but the plates looked very nice, clean and it had a style. The whole meal was a good complete experience with the boba and all. And the price was much better then a lot of Asian place having lots of there prices in the high area. It was refreshing to get a good product for a cheaper cost in most cases that’s not true at all.
Rating
Over all the place was a great experience, hitting all the high points. It had great service, friendly service, good atmosphere, very tasty food, and a good wide selection of food that kk fit the theme. Every thing we all got made me want to come back and try that one, the menu got me wanting to come back to try it all. All in all I highly recommended this place for people of all ages and food types it has a nice balanced menu for price and taste.
