what and where?
The Lazy dog is only a little over a year old Restaurant over in the Orchid Town plaza off 14618 Delaware Street Westminster Co, Across the Street from the new amazon warehouses. Though it is new to us it is not new to the world it has 31 other locations around the US there main hub being in California. the big sell is that they are a local growers and a seasonal menu base place meaning they only use the freshest ingredients and or best for the season you decide to dine. meaning the place will never feel stale coming again and again to a place that has the same food over and over but will have nice change of pace if you so choose to come again.
My First thoughts
I came across the place by chance seeing it from a distance was quite nice it is a very nice rustic looking place even from a distance and was inclined to check it out. and just like rustic on on the outside it is rustic on the inside with very pretty wood around and nice wood finished tables, host stand mad of logs and with a shiny chrome open kitchen on the far wall in the back end of the building. It did not disappoint me from the outside to the inside, it fit very nicely with what i was expecting. butter yet when you waling the big oak doors you are greeted by a very friendly staff looking comfy and stylish in a lumberjack styled uniform for the wait staff to all be wearing. being sat down and looking at the menu you can feel that it is very well made and that a lot of thought went in this as well to the them of the place,with a felt bound book and the very nice local artist watercolors around the menu to greet you and your eyes on every page.
The food
Sadly I mad a bit of a blunder with my meal for like I said before I found it by chance and did not know what I was going in to so I had a burger not knowing that they had so much more to offer,not saying burgers are bad by any-means but it is one of those safe menu items for people not feeling adventurist. Luckily not only was the BBQ Ranch Burger very good but my girlfriend got a Patty Melt, so i was able to try some thing else. but the burger was very well cooked and put together not falling about, other then just loads of sauce but that is what i signup for getting a BBQ and ranch burger. the melt was also very nicely balanced,the tater tots were so crisp but stiff soft and steamy on the inside. the food size was no joke eater im a big eater but this meal was enough to fill me to the brim sadly leaving no room for dessert.
RATING
Overall it was a very nice experience the place not only had a good elegant rustic theme but they stuck to it with it going from the food to staff dress code. i very much enjoyed the place and if i had any sort of negative thing to say is that bring for big boy wallet for the prices here are not on the cheap side, even still i can say you are paying for the quality in food with it . i would recommend this place and i would give it a 4.4 out five stars, a nice place to bring your Friends or family for a good eat in a calming place.
